For God is pleased with you when you do what you know is right and patiently endure unfair treatment.
Doing what we know is right, despite being treated poorly can often be a challenge. But
"God is pleased with you when you do.."
You may be treated unfairly at work--You might be talked to harshly by a friend or relative..And your first reaction may be retaliation.
But think about what Peter is saying here.
He encourages us to persevere even in the face of unfair treatment. By doing what is right in this, we may win souls to Christ by our good example.
Really our reward in perseverance is knowing "God is pleased with you".
And how amazing is that !?!?!
Heavenly Father, help us in times of trial and trouble to turn our eyes toward You and Your promises in Your Living Word.
We know that You are well pleased when we do what is right, despite persecution from others. Lord, guide us, guard us and encourage us with Your Holy Spirit, so that we may be examples of Your Light, Your Love and Your Unending Grace. In Jesus' Name we pray.. Amen..
