DRIVE-BY PRAYER

Even though school started back a few months ago, this is still worth sharing.  It's never too late to pray.

During a meeting of one of the intercessory prayer groups in our community (Brookhaven, MS), the Lord said that satan was not going to be satisfied until there was blood spilt at every school in our nation.  (I don't have to tell you how our schools, and children, have been under attack.  Many have lost their lives on the campuses of this nation.)  How many of you know that when God reveals the plans of the enemy to you, He also reveals the strategy for combating him in that area.

The strategy God gave the group was something they call, "Drive-by Prayer".  They began enlisting as many as would to commit themselves to pray daily for the children, then once a month drive by the school of their choice and pray specifically for that school.  It has been exciting to see how God is stirring the hearts of His people for the children.  So far, hundreds in Brookhaven community have committed themselves to pray.

Prayer is the most effective weapon we have...and probably the least used.  While in prayer about this matter of praying for our children, the Lord showed me a group adults encircled around this really large group of young people.  Then the group that was encircled around them became a wall.  The more people that joined the prayer, the thicker the wall became.  The more these people prayed, the higher the wall grew.  This is what the prayers that we are praying for the youth of our community do.  They act like a wall of protection around them that the enemy cannot penetrate.

There are two specific prayers that we pray each day for the children.  "He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge." (Proverbs 14:26)  "Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord." (Psalm 101:8)  (We also had key rings made to give to those who commit themselves to prayer as a reminder to pray and what to pray.)

The Bible says that the Kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.  It's time that the church of the living God start rising up and doing battle against the kingdom of darkness.  It's time that we stop sitting back and allowing the devil to destroy our children, our homes, our relationships, and begin to pray and stand in the gap and make up the hedge.  It's time that God's people rise up and tell the devil that he can't get away with these things any longer.  We have power and authority over all his powers, and the Greater One, Who already defeated the devil at Calvary, lives in us.

Prayerfully consider what you've read, and see if the Lord will have you pick up this strategy for your own community and children.  Prayer does change things; so isn't it time to pray?
