A PRAYER TO PRAY FOR YOUR MIND
(Written by Minister Sherry Ivy on 5-8-08)
Father in the name of Jesus, your word says we must first have a willing mind. “For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.” (2 Corinthians 8:12)
Before you can let the mind in me be like Jesus mind. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5)
Father, when I begin to let fear or doubt enter into my mind I ask you to remove it because you have not given me the spirit of fear. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
And Father, don’t let me be double minded because a double minded person is unstable in every thing they do. “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8)
Father don’t let me be conformed to the things of this world but let me be transformed by the renewing of my mind. So I can be changed into a new person and think the way You think. Then I will know how good and perfect Your will really is. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Roman 12:2)
And as I meditate on your word day and night let me be renewed in the spirit of my mind so I can begin to know Your thoughts and actions. “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” (Ephesians 4:23)
And Father, keep my mind stayed on you so I can have perfect peace. Then I won’t be stressed out and worried about the circumstances that’s going on in my life or the chaos that's going on around me because my thoughts and trust will be in You. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Father, help me to Gird up the lions of my mind so in my time of persecution I won’t get distracted or confused. Because my mind will be strong and ready for action. “wherefore girt up the lions of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:13)
And Father, program my mind to think on these things. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4: 8)
And “let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)
