A PRAYER TO PRAY WHEN YOU HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION
(Written by Minister Sherry Ivy)

Father in the name of Jesus, when I’m faced with a difficult decision to make help me to acknowledge you first by asking what would Jesus do if He was in this situation? Or what will He have me to do?  “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

Father, I do not want to lean to my own understanding so help me to trust in you to make the right decision for me. “Trust in the Lord, with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Order my steps so I won’t question myself whether I made the right decision by saying should I stay on this job, stay at this church, stay in this relationship or should I go? My delight is to be in the way you want me to go. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighted in his ways.” (Psalm 37:23)

And Father, help me to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit so He can teach me and bring every thing to my remembrance that I need to do. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)  And help me to listen when the Holy Spirit speak to me so I can hear Him when He instruct me in the way I should go. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” (Psalm 32:8)

Then Father, help me to understand the things I can’t change, change the things that I can and grant me your wisdom to know the difference. Then I’ll be able to make wise decisions. “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:6) “Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7)

Father I ask you to do all these things for me because you’re able to do more than I can ask or think. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. A-men
