"SUCH LOVE"
by Diane M. Hale
"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." [John 7:37]
After months of loving discipline Peg the family pet has learned to stay in the garden without physical restraints or punishments. Nothing other than the strongest power on earththe unseen measure of love that cares enough to place the restrictions there in the first placewhat a wonderful picture of our Father's love.
There He stoodon the temple steps blocking the entrance saying with His Presence don't go that way any moreno more daily sacrificeno more ritualman cannot add anything to what I AM! No bricks or mortar nor sanctimonious repetition of words will ever again be necessary I AM the source of everything! Come to Me!
Man can never get his head around something that happens in the heart. Only love recognizes and responds to love. Many still try with their head and continue by repetition to re-enact what Christ has already accomplished and their need is to accept the freedom of Love. Anything less than love binds men to the past and old wineskins keeps them in bondage. Jesus is the new wine and will not attach Himself to the old. "No one sews a patch of un-shrunk-cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse." [Matthew 9:16]
This is lovefreedom that knows and accepts restrictions as the provision and protection of lovelike Peg we'd rather please the Master and be where He is than the ceaseless effort of going our own way.
